We are Published!
It’s always a great feeling when your work gets recognized as a photographer - or as any creative for that matter. Seeing your work in print and published is the best feeling there is! This year is not necessarily the first time we get published, but it was the first time we saw multiple pieces of our work in one place (and we didn’t even know about it).
Early January, we were having a gin & tonic with the family at De Heeren at Sea, when I saw that there was a new My Curacao Guide. I always love these guides as they’re readily available and have lots of photography. As I was flipping through the pages, I came across our work & not just on one page - but multiple!
As we were flipping back and forth, we also saw our own faces. Ashley for Landhuis San Nicolas, which were photos we had taken during our private beach experience - you can read about our experience & see the photos here!
But, a few months ago, we were also asked to model as a couple for Brass Boer Curaçao! An experience we immediately said yes to - we like to get out of our comfort zone every once in a while. It was such a fun experience and really insightful for us to be the model. As we are usually behind the camera giving the directions to the models, we now had to follow the directions of another photographer. And now that experience will forever be in print!
The rest of the pages were from some of our monthly clients such as MosaCaña and others for whom we had shot content galleries last year such as Jan Thiel Beach, Kura Hulanda, Annabay Rum, and FunMiles in collaboration with Freeport Jewelers!
So please, go check out the guide, it’s super informative and useful! We are incredibly grateful to our clients for working with us and mentioning us, which allows us to get our name out there and reach a bigger audience.
Other Publications
Last year we got published for the first time! We were approached by Hello Zuidas Magazine from The Netherlands to capture a few headshots that would be featured in their magazine! Once it got published, the photos we had shot earlier that year for Kontiki Beach Resort were also featured! You can find the online version of the magazine here. The first photo is on page 22 & the spread for Kontiki is on page 28.
As we were walking through our neighborhood, Pietermaai, we came across a free guide “Historic Pietermaai District 2024” and spotted 2 of our photos. While on a job at Kafe 5999, we found our work in Foodbook Curaçao 2024. These are unfortunately not as readily available and mainly in horeca and hotels, but a lot of our work is featured in there as well - including ourselves as models for Brass Boar!
