AMSTERDAM
Welcome to our first travel blog!
We just got back from our recent trip to Amsterdam and have been editing the photos we’ve shot.
Amsterdam is one of our favorite cities. We’ve visited the city quite a few times, but never got the chance to fully experience what it’s like to actually live here. This time around, we were lucky enough to be able to stay in the city center and really get to experience the day-to-day. Which, of course, includes a morning take-away coffee followed by a walk with no destination in mind. This is probably the thing we miss the most of living in a bigger city: the ability to just walk to nowhere and enjoy everything that’s happening around you. Besides just the beauty of the city, we also love all the food options, cultural outings, and shopping (mainly for gear)!
Some of our favorite spots in the city include: The Coffee District for the best coffee & croissants, Zero Zero for the best sandwich you’ll ever have (you can literally pick any from the menu and none will dissappoint), Chun for a whole new experience on toast (we recommend going for the garlic shrimp!), The Breakfast Club for banging pancakes, The Lebanese Sajeria for an explosion of taste, Umaimon for great ramen, De Brabantse Aap for a nice view & great tap beer, and De Final Touch for a drink & boardgames (also a great place for pool)!
Besides just enjoying the city, we also did some actual work… We had a personal photoshoot with influencer Kelly Camfferman in the city center. She really wanted to have a pop of color in the photos, so she came with a colorful wardrobe!
Here are our favorites from that shoot:
We also shot an up & coming gym in Amsterdam Noord: Ballin’ Fit. They are still in renovations, which made it a fun challenge for us to capture their essence. We mainly focused on getting headshots of the team and some action shots.
Here are our favorites:
All in all, we fell in love with the city 20x over and cannot wait to go back. The amount of inspiration around the city, the endless subjects for street photography, the photo exhibitions, the art galleries, the amazing coffee places. It left us wanting more & inspired to get creative!
If you made it this far in the blog, thank you so much for reading and joining us on our journey!
Soon we will share more from other trips we’ve been on. We’ll give you a visual journey of those incredible cities & some tips on what to do in case you’re planning a trip soon…
All the best,
Ashley & Juan
